I love circus, from the Cirque du Soleil to Mat Frasers Freak Show and anything in between. The Flying Seagull Project are one of my favourites. They are a group of volunteers (no one gets paid) who travel through Romania and other countries in a bus visiting orphanages, hospitals, gypsy areas and community projects entertaining, teaching and giving children a huge dose of laughter. The volunteers are performers, artists and musicians from Britain with the core team being professional trained childrens entertainers with years of experience.

Heres Libby, my Speckled Hen Acrobat doll. I imagine her doing the splits with a chicken balancing on her toes on one foot with an egg balancing on the chickens nose.
Her costume tutu is layers of silk in earthy brown tones, the bodice is printed silk with gold sequins. Her slender arms are metallic silk fabric with hand stitched gold beading detail. Her hands are softly stuffed with hand stitched detailed fingers.
Different shades of mohair wool has been twisted and coiled around her head with a clear beaded head band. Her face is needle soft sculptured. Her eyes are painted with a green stone attached with hand embroidered silk eyelashes. Gold beads for the eyebrows and ruby red beads sewn in a Mona Lisa smile. Gold glittery buttons are used for her shoulder and hip joints and she is sewn to allow for her acrobatics at the elbows and knees.
Her dancers legs are made from designer patchwork effect fabric with a gold bead stitched on each of the toes.
