A true English rose from the 1950s era. It's a special weekend in the East End - it's the Queens coronation celebrations. A fair has come to the park with a carousel, Peggy can't wait to go on, she hopes she gets the horse called Tom, the name of her sweetheart, it will bring her good luck she thinks.

Peggy and her neighbours are also putting on a street party, they have decorated their street in Union Jacks, brought out the gramophone, emptied their kitchens of tables and chairs and have made a large picnic.
Everyone is so jolly and excited today.


The Queen in celebration of her accession has lifted food rations for the day and every household is entitled to 1lb of sugar and 4oz of margarine, which allowed Peggy to make her famous victoria sponge cake and her Father make some beer.

She looks a treat in her dress she has made out of lavender print cotton and white lace trim.

Her diamond necklace is a present passed down from her grandmother who was nicknamed Diamond Lil and she wears it with pride.

Her soft platinum blonde hair is styled in a fashionable wave.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A photographer gets her to pose for a photo as he thinks she has a real cheeky character to her face. 

Peggys arms and legs are made from vintage fabric, she is extremely poseable with mother of pearl button jointed limbs at the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, even her fingers can bend. Emerald green eyes and ruby red lips are hand embroidered and her face is needle-sculpted. She stands 17 inches tall and comes in a decorative box
