Maud Powell (1867 – 1920 ) was an American violinist who gained international acclaim for her skill and virtuosity. She was born in Peru, Illinois and grew up in Aurora, Illinois. She was the first American violinist to achieve international rank. Several foundations as well as a musical festival were founded in her honor to continue musical education.
For her performance tonight Maud is wearing a full skirted dress in designer toile du jouy fabric trimmed with tea dyed broiderie anglais and lace cuffs. A big pink ribbon pulls in her waist, underneath she has a silk underskirt. Her legs are made from tea dyed muslin with painted on dark lilac ankle boots. Decorative clear buttons are used for her shoulder and hip joints and her elbows and knees are sewn to enable different poses. Air-dry clay-over-cloth technique is used for her face and hands, which are all hand-sculpted and hand painted. Her eyes are a deep blue colour.
A beautiful doll to match interiors.

A rich deep red mohair is used for her hair. Her hair is waved and loosely tied with pink ribbon.
Do not give to under 3s.
