This doll is inspired by The Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingolls Wilder which I was a huge fan of as a child .They are autobiogragical books based on the author's life and history, in the midwest region of the United States in the late 19th century. The small log cabin where she lived in Kansas and which was a big feature in the stories has been rebuilt and is now an historical site for visitors.
I'm still saving for my own log cabin somewhere in my dreams.
Laura is wearing a vintage printed cotton dress with a lace trim and a white cotton petticoat.

She has painted on ankle boots with a lace threaded through and little white lacy socks.
A deep red mohair wool is used for the hair and braided. Her face is soft needle sculpted and hand embroidered.

She has soft stuffed hands and button joints at the shoulders and hips and sewn at the elbows and knees to allow for movement.
She has an extremely happy disposition and is bright eyed with wonder at the world. She comes with her own felt chicken.
Do not give to under 3s.
