Recently a friend of mine went to the Gambia and kindly brought me back some beautifull cotton fabric, I have used some for this doll.
There were so many different patterns on the one cloth, I used one pattern for the arms, one for the body and another for the legs and sash.
This is a needle sculpted cloth doll, her eyes have been hand embroidered with long thick lashes and her mouth is hand sewn tiny ruby red beads.
Her twisted hair is coiled around the back of the head with tiny gold and black beads hanging all around the sides.

A bright yellow lacy dress brings it all together.
Wooden buttons are used for the shoulder and hip joints, sewn at the elbows and hips so she poses easily.
She also has sewn gold beaded bracelets at each wrist.
The hands are soft brushed cotton and stuffed slightly with hand stitched fingers.
This doll is 16” tall. Do not give to under age 5.
