Daphne and her mum are visiting Uncle Jack. He has a big house and like's things done just so. Not a hair out of place at Uncle Jacks I can tell you. Daphne sits upright as a piano and smiles a big, big smile. She is thinking about how many doodlesteps make a light year while Uncle Jack talks about aches and pains that don't seem to keep him from horse riding. She is very good at pretending to listen with interest.

Her limbs are made from Liberty of London fabric with a small rose design. She has a white broiderie anglais skirt and a red cotton pinafore dress trimmed with white lace.
A white ribbon with red flowers pulls in her waist. White pearly buttons are used for her button limbs, sewn at the elbows and kness to allow for different poses.
Dark blond mohair is used for her hair which is in a wavy 1940s style with a white silk rose worn to the side.
This is a clay-over-cloth doll, with hand-sculpted and hand-painted clay face and hands. The rest of the doll is cloth.
She is 18" (inches) tall. Not for the under 5s.
