Here is my tribute to Carmen Miranda in her tutti-frutti hat. One of the most extraordinary multi talented singers and performers, who still holds the crown in my eyes.

 

 

Her tutti frutti hat is a turban of colorful silk and sequins with a gold tassle sprouting from the top. She is adorned with fun glass grape earrings and a garnet bead necklace. Her gorgeous face is hand embroidered  including her huge thick eyelashes. Her facial features are soft needle sculpted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bright yellow raw silk is used for her slender arms and her sexy bodice is a silk applique decorated with embroidery and sequin both front and back. She wears her see through silk skirt with gold thread on her hips.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Her elegant legs and feet are bright pink raw silk, with diamante toes and a gold effect ankle bracelet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both her shoulder and hip joints are button jointed with decorative glitter buttons, her elbows and knees are sewn so she can pose easily. 

 

This doll is approximately seventeen inches tall.
